Faster, Higher, Stronger Clinic set

MSU will host its 7th annual clinic Feb. 19

MINOT, N.D.  – The Minot State University track & field team has finalized the date for the 2012 Faster, Higher, Stronger Clinic.

The clinic, in its seventh year, will take place Sunday, Feb. 19 at the MSU Dome. The clinic is for athletes in grade 6-12 and their respective coaching staffs.

Minot State will have members of the 2012 women's and men's track & field teams along with head coach Stu Melby, assistant coach Scott Gordon and student assistant coaches Cody Goetz, Josh Ming and Kaycee Grochow conducting various stations within the clinic.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. at the MSU Dome with a greeting and warm-up beginning at 11:30 a.m. At noon, sprints/relays, pole vault, javelin and distance session begins. Horizontal jumps, pole vault (continued) and discus being at 1:30 p.m. and hurdles, high jump and shot put are at 3 p.m.

The event wraps up with a dinner sponsored by Pizza Ranch.

The entire day costs $20 and included dinner, snacks, a track bag and instruction. Each participant is expected to bring workout cloths, training shoes, competition shoes and indoor implements such as shot put, discus, javelin and pole vault poles.
