LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Minot State University junior
Jen Dixon (OF/P, Brandon, Manitoba) outstanding season continues to be awarded with postseason honors.
Dixon, who earlier in the day became the school's first ever Capital One Academic All-American, was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II All-American Team. She was as second-team selection. She is the second All-American as junior
Carly Boag (Tamworth, Australia) was named Daktronics All-American Honorable Mention in women's basketball in March.
For the season, Dixon led the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in hitting and was recently named the Daktronics Central Region Player of the Year as well as the NSIC Player of the Year. She batted .447 with 17 doubles, six triples and 12 home runs, while driving in 50 runs. She helped Minot State to a 41-11 record – a school record for wins in a season – and the program's first trip to the NCAA National Tournament.
She was joined on the second team by fellow NSIC standout Lindsay Erickson from Minnesota State. They were the only two NSIC players named to the 45-member All-American team. In all there were 36 different NCAA DII Institutions represented on the three teams.
Midwestern State led all schools with four total All-Americans as well as a trio of first-team recipients, while Indianapolis boasted three selections and California (Pa.), Cal State Dominguez Hills, Valdosta State and Barry followed with two players each.
