Northern Sun to visit Minot State in October

MINOT, N.D. – Representatives from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference will visit the campus of Minot State University as a part of their expansion plans Oct. 19 and 20.

A team of six individuals – a president, an athletic director, a faculty athletic representative and a senior woman administrator from the 14-member conference will join the commissioner, Butch Raymond, and the associate commissioner, Erin Lind, as the NSIC contingent to MSU.

“We are excited to have the representatives from the Northern Sun coming to campus,” said MSU Athletic Director Rick Hedberg. “This is a big step in our process to move to NCAA Division II. We have a great community and a wonderful campus and we are glad to be able to show them off.”

The group will meet with Minot State’s senior administration, academic representatives, athletic staff, coaches, boosters and community members during the two-day visit.

“Obviously they will be checking our athletic facilities and programs, but also they want to look closely at our academic programs and offerings,” Hedberg said. “We have a lot of exciting things taking place right now across our campus. This will be an important visit for us, but I think they will be impressed with what Minot and Minot State have to offer.”
